Anita Mui Cafe

Sometimes, do you think that it’s a big trouble to think of a nice place to have casual talk with your best friends or INTIMATE friend especially in a crowded place like Causeway Way? If your answer is bar, the environment is sometimes very annoying with too many people talking at the same time. If your answer is restaurant, you’d better leave as soon as possible once you’ve finished all the plates because you’ll feel the pressure from the waiters and waitresses.

But today, I’m going to introduce all of you “An Oasis in the Desert”. It’s a very relaxing and nice place to spend your time with your friends in Causeway Bay. It’s Anita Mui Café.

The Cafe is located at the third floor of a building situated in Happy Mansion Lee Garden Road. If my friend did not tell me, I don’t know where it is.

It’s called Anita Mui Café because it was set up by some of the fans of Anita Mui. Like its name, the decoration inside is exactly associated with Ani
ta Mui such as the posters of the films in which she participated before, the covers of her old Black Plastic Discs, the photo albums, the photographs of her and her friends together, etc. The area is not so big but it’s comfortable because the seats are mainly sofas and even there’re cushions provided. You will have the feeling of being at home. I like the light decoration inside the café because it’s so soft and not so stimulating to the eyes.

The variety of foods provided is not so wide but they are very delicious, bravo, yummy… especially for the snacks. For beverages, you can choose from the different varieties of choices which they offered. My friends and I like the red grapes fruit juice very much. Next time, we will try the others…jeje

As it’s named Anita Mui Café, you can hear the old songs of Anita Mui. As a person like me who was born in the late 70’s, it reminds me of the s
weet memories of those years. It’s a good therapy of curing the stress from which we easily suffer in today’s world.

The following is the details of the location of the cafe. Hey one of my best friends, please call me... I want to make an appointment with you in advance to enjoy the happy moment there...jeje

Disappointment

Recently, I have talked with one of my friends about Hong Kong in which we’re living right now. The conclusion is disappointment as a whole.

On the surface, Hong Kong is better off than before. The nightmare of economic slump was over and we’re walking towards the road of success in the coming years. Actually, Hong Kong is just like a decayed apple.

After the explosion of the bubbles in our asset market in 1998, we’ve done nothing to improve and equip ourselves. We’re still too proud of ourselves and we focus in the industries in which we have the so-called the competitive edge…(financial sector and logistics sector). But I am sure that the major cities in China will surpass us sooner or later. The reason why Hong Kong can still maintain its role of raising capital for the enterprises of China is that there’s sound legal system and no foreign exchange control here. But can anyone guarantee that our supremacy can still be maintained once the market in China becomes mature and further opened to the foreign investors?

The worst of all is that our “Pillar of the Society” cannot compete with the elites in our mainland China. The majority of our students in the universities of Hong Kong lack the endurance and diligence that most of the elites in China have. The reason is evident because not everyone in China has the opportunity of studying in the university. Once they succeed in entering into the university, they will treasure the opportunity. I had an unforgettable picture of an event in my mind. One day, when I was waiting for a train in a platform in Shanghai, I saw three girls with age of about 20 years approaching one of the foreigners. The guy was a French. Then the girls asked him if they could speak French with him as they were studying in the university right now and they needed to find someone to practise. It impressed me so much. The girls seized every opportunity they have to improve themselves. I would like to ask our students in our universities…Will u do the same???

Apart from the above, the traditional virtues that our parents taught us since our childhood cannot be found in the young generation. One of them is punctuality. Late arrival in attending lessons, in having appointments with their friends, etc is very common. I think the people with the same age as I need to change our mindset. The young people will have no guilty feeling when they arrive late. Perhaps, we are getting old. It’s the trend of the 21stcentury.

Moreover, the youngsters depend so much on others. They are not proactive all the times. Perhaps, they are overprotected in the family. And they were brought up in the period when our economy was booming. They could not experience the hardship that we faced in the late 60’s and 70’s. Their parents would do everything for them. If they face any problems, their parents will become their shelters. And they will provide all the materials that their children need in order to satisfy them because they lack the time to spend with them. They want to do something as compensation. But is it good?

I miss all the best things of 80’s (the music of 80’s, the superstar of 80’s, the harmony of 80’s, the happiness of 80’s, the simplicity of 80’s). Where have they gone? I find it hard to take a breath everyday. I need a place to hide myself at least a year or more. I want to prepare everything that I can in order to leave this place as soon as possible. I have confidence. I have a strong feeling that I can achieve it soon.
